BACA President receives EU delegation

Manama, Feb. 23 (BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa received a European Parliament delegation, currently on visit to the Kingdom at the invitation of Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla. First Deputy Speaker Ali Al-Aradi and MP Nasser Al-Qasir also attended the meeting at the Bahrain National Museum. BACA President briefed the delegation on cultural activities round the year, and announced that the 16th edition of the Spring of Culture Festival would be launched at the end of this week. She highlighted the activities lined up this year under the theme "Bahrain Your Destination" which aims at promoting Bahrain as pioneering hub for cultural tourism in the region and the world. The EU delegation toured Bahrain National Museum and were briefed on different sections, including Delmon Hall which showcases artifacts and vestiges dating back to over 5000 years.
