Shura Council Chairman leaves for Cairo

Manama, Feb. 23 (BNA): A Shura Council delegation, headed by Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, left for Cairo today to take part in the Arab Parliaments Speakers Conference which will convene under the patronage of the Egyptian President and Chairman of the current Arab Summit at the Arab League headquarters on February 24 and 25. The conference is organised by the Arab Parliament in cooperation with the Arab League and the Arab Parliamentary Union under the theme "Parliamentary Vision to Face Current Challenges for the Arab Nation". The Bahraini delegation comprises Head of the Shura Council Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee and Deputy Head of the Arab Parliament's Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee Dalal Jassim Al Zayed as well as member of the Shura Council and Arab Parliament's Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committees Abdulrahman Mohammed Jamshir. The Shura Council Chairman said that the conference is an opportunity to coordinate Arab parliamentary stances and unify efforts regarding current challenges facing the Arab region, including mainly terrorism and extremism. The aim, he added, is to reach a common vision that will be translated into recommendations to be submitted to the Arab Summit which will convene in March.
