National Action Charter roadmap for Bahrain's prosperity

Cairo, Feb. 24 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed Al-Mulla has warned of the danger of terrorism and extremism, describing it as a source of worry for all. He urged to confront terrorism and those who are supporting it to jeopardise the Arab unity and drive wedges in the social texture. Addressing the Arab Parliaments Speakers Conference, which kicked off in Cairo today under the theme "A parliamentary Vision to Face Current Challenges for the Arab Nation", he urged to confront terrorism and its advocates with strength and determination. He reiterated support to the Saudi-led Arab coalition in Yemen to deter the armed terrorist groups and restore legitimacy there. He also underlined support to the Arab anti-terrorism movement and the Islamic alliance against violence and bloodshed. Al-Mulla conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his best wishes of every success to the conference which is organised by the Arab Parliament in coordination with the Arab League and the Arab Parliamentary Union amid exceptional political and economic challenges which, he said, requires strong cooperation to ward off internal and external dangers. He reiterated the right of the Palestinian people to live in a secure country with full sovereignty and independence, calling on the international community to stop the Israeli violations which are in breach of the UN resolutions as well as international conventions and covenants. He described the Israeli continuous occupation of Palestine as one of the main reasons behind a surge in terrorism, extremism and regional instability. The Representatives Council Speaker emphasised Bahrain's big democratic and reform strides, describing the National Action Charter, which was approved by a sweeping majority of 98.4% of the Bahraini people, as a roadmap for the kingdom's prosperity.
