JAKARTA STOCKS CLOSE HIGHER ON REGIONAL BOURSES' REBOUNDS


Jakarta, Jan. 9 (ANTARA) - - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) closed 8.960 points higher on Friday morning, following rebounds in regional bourses.
The IHSG in morning trading closed at 1,411.62, or up 8.960 points and the LQ45 index strengthened 2.100 points to 284.01.
PT Panin Capital research analyst Bayu Aji said the BEI index's surge had happened thanks to an external factor from regional bourses' gain.
The Jakarta Stock movements were dominated by 67 shares that advanced, and 31 which plunged, and 38 shares that remained static.
Among shares which gained in the BEI were PGAS (State Gas Company) which went up Rp90 to Rp2,100, International Nickel Indonesia mining company (PT INCO), that surged Rp200 to Rp2,725, state Telecommunication company PT Telkom shares that were up Rp50 to Rp7,050, United Tractors which advanced Rp200 to Rp5,400, and Indofood Sukses Makmur which rose Rp30 to Rp1,060, and Aneka Tambang that added Rp50 to 1,210.
The morning session's transactions reached a total value of Rp644.181 billion.
The IHSG at the BEI opened slightly down Friday morning. The IHSG fell 1.96 points to 1,400.70.
