Japanese Reactionaries' Suppression of Chongryon Denounced

Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- Days ago the National Police Agency of Japan hurled a joint investigation headquarters police team including the police headquarters of Kyoto, Kanagawa, Yamaguchi and Shimane prefectures to search offices of economic bodies under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) such as the Federation of Joint Economic Venture of Korean Residents in Japan under the pretence of violation of "law on foreign exchange" by a Korean trading company. Minju Joson Friday says in a commentary in this regard: This is another unpardonable, grave politically- motivated provocation against the DPRK and Chongryon as it was illegal gangsterism. The recent forcible search was politically-motivated grave terrorism to infringe upon the sovereignty of the DPRK, harshly suppress the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and stifle Chongryon at any cost. The recent search operations are, in essence, part of the anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon sanctions by the Japanese reactionaries. They are despicable and inhumane violation of human rights to suppress Chongryon and Koreans in Japan by creating uneasiness and fear in the Korean community and inciting hostility toward the DPRK and Chongryon among the Japanese people. At the same time, it is the revelation of the black-hearted scenario to realize the ambition for reinvading the DPRK at any cost by driving the DPRK-Japan relations to catastrophe and tightening the military nexus with the U.S. and south Korean puppet group. A saying goes every sin brings its punishment with it. If the Japanese reactionaries persistently resort to suppression of Chongryon, they will be wholly responsible for the ensuing serious consequences. -0-
