Pirates release the supertanker Sirius Star

Mogadishu, January 09, SPA -- Somali pirates released today the Saudi
Aramco's supertanker "Sirius Star" which was seized on November 15,
2008.

International news agencies quoted a source close to pirates as
saying “All our people have now left the Sirius Star. The ship is
free, the crew is free”.

The supertanker is now steaming out to safe waters, said Andrew
Mwangura of the East African Seafarers Assistance Programme.
