Bahraini delegation off to reinforce Bahraini-Turkish business ties

Manama, Feb. 29 (BNA): A Bahraini business delegation comprising of the Bahraini side of the Bahraini-Turkish Joint Business Council headed by Mr. Khalid Al Moayed Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and representatives from Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) is visiting Turkey in a business mission that aims to step up business activities between both friendly countries and boost the trade volume which amounted to over 26 million U.S dollars up to December 2015 according to the Central Informatics Organization of Bahrain (CIO). The visit included holding meetings and B2B meetings at the headquarters of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK) in Istanbul which embraced Bahraini business owners with their Turkish counterparts and underlined the economic features of the Bahraini economy and its fertile business environment in a bid to encourage the flow of investments and bolster joint business ventures. During the meetings, Mr. Al Moayed extended an invitation to Turkish business owners, investors, and entrepreneurs to attend the GCC-Turkey forum which is organized jointly by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of GCC Chambers, and will be held in September 2016 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and encouraged them to seize the opportunity to identify business and investment opportunities and forge partnerships. It is worth to mention that the visit will result in signing an agreement between the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) setting the base for establishing a joint businessmen council.
