Government supports municipal councils role in serving citizens

Manama, Mar. 3 (BNA): Information and Parliament Affairs Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi has asserted the Government's keenness on supporting the role of municipal councils in serving citizens through the development of public parks and beaches, conservation of environment and health, and enhancement of the quality of public services. The minister on Thursday received the chairman and members of Northern Governorate's Municipal Council , praising the vital role of the elected municipal councils as one of the fruitions of the kingdom's democratic reforms process, in developing the municipal services provided to citizens, boosting their efficacy in cooperation with the Ministry of Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs and the relevant sides. The minister reviewed the means of boosting cooperation with the Northern Governorate's Municipality that reflects positively by pushing forward the wheel of sustainable socio-economic developments. The council's chairman Mohammed Khalifa Bu Hamood thanked the minister for his attention to bolstering the coordination with municipal councils and showcasing their efforts and services in all media and communication outlets to serve the nation and fulfill citizens' needs.
