Foreign Ministry welcomes UNSC resolution on North Korea

Manama, Mar. 3 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the unanimous adoption of Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2270 to expand and tighten international sanctions imposed on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, in response to its recently conducted nuclear and ballistic experiments. "The Resolution confirms the seriousness of the International Community to confront any violations, and serves as a clear and firm message addressing any provocations that could undermine international peace and security," the ministry said in a statement. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses on the need of full cooperation between all countries for the precise and decisive implementation of UN Security Council resolutions and take strict and stringent measures to prevent any threats that endanger the security and stability of the world. "The Foreign Ministry renews the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain to support all the efforts to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction around the world and calls for the full commitment to the Non-proliferation Treaty as the cornerstone of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and to ensure that the international Atomic Energy Agency continues monitoring and supervision of all nuclear programs and activities," the statement said.
