Health minister takes part in Arab meeting

Manama, Mar. 4 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa bin Said Al-Saleh has led the kingdom’s delegation to the 45th session of the Arab Health Minister’s Council, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo. The meeting, chaired by Mauritania, approved its agenda and reviewed a number of draft resolutions recommended by the Executive Bureau of the council during its preparatory meeting ahead of the 45th session. Topics on the agenda included a draft resolution on developing the Arab Health Ministers Council and health legislation on "medical accountability for service providers," programmes to improve maternal and child health, mental health, prevention, treatment of addiction and the Arab strategy to combat AIDS, health and the environment. Exchange of health information among Arab countries, as well as preparations for the Arab Summit also featured in the meeting agenda. A number of Arab countries also submitted proposals regarding ways to implement the Post 2015 Sustainable Development Goals.
