Speaker receives Moroccan counterpart

Manama, Mar. 7 (BNA): Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla has received the Moroccan Speaker Rasheed Al Talibi Al Alami and a delegation of MPs on an official visit to Bahrain. The Moroccan Speaker praised the solid historic fraternal bonds between the leaderships, governments and peoples of both countries and said his visit aims to explore and bolster the positive and fruitful mutual cooperation between the two countries and to push the cooperation in all fields in the higher interest of both countries in particular and the whole region in general. Al Alami reiterated his country's firm supportive stance with Bahrain, lauding the ongoing democratic reforms and socio-economic and political advancement of both countries capable of overcoming obstacles and challenges of extremism and terrorism thanks to the leadership of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HM King Mohammed VI Ibn Al Hassan of Morocco. He said Bahrain and Morocco are one country and one people and Bahrain's security is that of Morocco and vice versa. Al Mulla cited the volume and level of bilateral brotherly ties asserting the significance of beefing up parliamentary cooperation and coordination and benefiting from expertise in parliamentary and legislative work between MPs as well as the general secretariats of both Councils beside the activation of the role of joint friendship committees and working at all levels in areas of political, parliamentary and economic development to safeguard the two countries security and stability. Al Mulla reiterated Bahrain's support to the unity of Moroccan territories and the genuine and lawful right of Morocco to preserve its integrity and independence and national territory and to maintain its security and protect its people at all levels. Al Alami praised Bahrain's development and accomplishments in terms of reforms, development and rights and also praised the Bahraini government's positive efforts, effective parliamentary moves and the Bahraini people's loyal firm stances regarding all lawful Moroccan issues and supporting the Moroccan government and people at all levels and under all circumstances. The Moroccan Ambassador to the kingdom, Ahmed Rasheed Khattabi, the Council of Representatives Secretary-General Abdullah bin Khalaf Al Dossary, and Bahraini MPs attended the meeting.
