CCB chairman receives Turkish chief public prosecutor

Manama, Mar. 7 (BNA): The Constitutional Court of Bahrain (CCB)'s Chairman, Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid Al Khalifa, on Monday received Turkish Chief Public Prosecutor at the Supreme Court Mehmet Akarca and his accompanying delegation in the presence of Chief Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali bin Fadhul Al Buainain and the Ambassador of Turkey Republic to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hatun Demirer.
The Turkish delegation's visit aims to explore and boost the exchange of expertise in the judicial and legislative fields in the light of cooperation between Bahrain and Turkey.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid briefed the guests about the Constitutional Courts' jurisdictions vis-a-vis constitutionality of laws, regulations, judicial procedures and courts rulings that reflect the supremacy of the law and the protection and preservation of rights and liberties ensured by the Bahraini Constitution against any violation. He lauded the advanced level of cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially the judicial and legislative cooperation. He hailed the kingdom's leadership's constant heed and follow up of the Constitutional Court since its establishment as part of the reforms of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Turkish chief public prosecutor spoke about the jurisdictions and wide ranging powers of the public prosecution vis-a-vis the Turkish judiciary and parliament.
The visiting Turkish delegation toured the alleys and facilities of the Constitutional Court including the main hall and viewed the building's genuine Bahraini contemporary architectural design.
In conclusion of their tour, the Turkish chief public prosecutor and members of his delegation expressed their admiration of the Constitutional Court's advanced procedures and sureties matching highest international standards in this aspect, expressing their gratitude and appreciation to the Constitutional Court's chairman and officials for their welcoming reception.
The two sides exchanged commemorative gifts on this occasion.
