Bahrain, Turkey sign MoU

Manama, Mar 7 (BNA): Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al-Bouainain and Turkish Chief Public Prosecutor at the Supreme Court, Mehmet Akarca, today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in view of enhancing cooperation in the judicial field. In a press conference following the signing ceremony, Al-Bouainain stressed keenness to boost cooperation and exchange of expertise for the promotion of justice and crime reduction. He said that the MoU comes as a result of the exchange of visits and learning about the Turkish judicial system and public prosecution work. Akarca said that the MoU is the first of its kind between the two countries in the field of judicial cooperation and exchange of expertise in the fight against cross-border crimes, extradition of criminals. He expressed optimism that more cooperation between the two countries to come, lauding the royal interest in broadening cooperation in various areas. He added that under the cooperation agreement, Bahrain's Public Prosecution staff will be engaged in specialized judicial courses in Ankara, stressing Turkey's long experience in judicial training and cooperation.
