HRH Premier sends letter to Association for the Furtherance of Peace president

Vienna, Mar. 8 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has sent a written message to the Her Imperial Highness Archduchess Herta Margarete, the President of the Association for the Furtherance of Peace. HRH Premier expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Association for the Furtherance of Peace for conferring on him the "Flame of Peace" Award, affirming that the world is need, now more than ever, for the noble mission of the association to promote peace amid the troubles currently faced by many regions in the world. He also wished the association further success in its good efforts. This came as the Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutawa held here today, in the presence of Shaikh Hussam bin Isa Al Khalifa, a meeting with the Vice-President of the Association for the Furtherance of Peace Archduke Sandor von Habsburg, to whom he handed over HRH Premier's letter, and discussed the arrangement to grant the award to HRH Premier. Al-Mutawa conveyed greetings and appreciation of HRH Premier to the Association for the Furtherance of Peace, its President and Advisory Board for conferring the Flame of Peace on the Prime Minister in recognition of his constructive role to promote peace. The minister affirmed that nominating HRH Premier to receive the prestigious award reflects his status as a globally-respected personality in the humanitarian and development fields. He stressed that HRH the Prime Minister's efforts focused on consolidating the values of openness and responsible freedom and strengthened the pillars of co-existence, equality and protection of rights and freedom which, he said, are the civilisational features that have always been attached to Bahrain throughout history as a country that respects human dignity, and fosters tolerance and peaceful co-existence among all its social segments. Her Imperial Highness Archduchess Herta Margarete expressed pride in granting the Flame of Peace Award on HRH Premier in appreciation of his policies that guaranteed real peaceful co-existence for minorities in Bahrain. It is also an international acknowledgment of his pivotal role in development, which, she said, earned him many awards by specialized UN agencies.
