King congratulates new Arab League chief

Manama, Mar.11 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to new Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheet on his appointment for a five-year term. HM the King stressed the wide-ranging Arab trust in the new chief’s credentials to deal wisely and competently with all internal and external issues and enhance the performance of the Arab League towards achieving the aspirations of Arab states and people to overcome the current critical period, consolidate their security and stability and spur their growth and prosperity. HM the King affirmed unwavering support to the new chief to achieve all initiatives and translate ideas and visions towards strengthening pan-Arab relations, bolstering joint cooperation and consolidating coordination in dealing with all regional and international issues, conducive to a stronger Arab stance towards other countries and blocs in the world. HM the King recalled the stance of the new Arab League chief in support of Bahrain as well as keenness on strengthening deep-rooted bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, wishing him every success for the best of the Arab nation.
