HRH Premier praises deep-rooted Bahrain-US ties

Manama, Mar. 17 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command Vice Admiral Kevin Donegan. HRH Premier asserted the steady progress of the Bahrain-US relations of friendship and cooperation throughout history in various fields, including the military and defence ones, stressing Bahrain's keenness on enhancing the deep-rooted bilateral relations with the US and bolstering cooperation with it. HRH the Prime Minister reviewed with the Commander of the U.S Naval Forces Central Command the regional and international developments, calling for the need to step up cooperation in order to achieve regional stability. The positive results of stability and prosperity in the region would benefit everyone, he said. HRH Premier highlighted the aspirations of the peoples of the region to make their region the best in the world in terms of security, stability, development and progress. The Prime Minister affirmed that the deteriorating humanitarian situation in some countries require dealing with the causes immediately as the on-going chaos, anarchy and instability have displaced their peoples who, he said, are suffering from emigration and homelessness. In this regard, HRH Premier praised the role played by the US, alongside allied and friendly countries, to maintain security and stability in the region, combating terrorism and serving global peace issues. Commander of the U.S Naval Forces Central Command lauded Bahrain's development strides, expressing pride in the kingdom's constant readiness to cooperate with the International Community to promote security and stability.
