Finance Minister urges more cooperation between executive and legislative branches

Manama, March 22 (BNA): Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa called anew on members of the legislative council to cooperate with the executive branch to pass laws aimed at boosting the economy, promoting services and wooing investments so as to weather the financial and economic challenges. Speaking before the parliament today, he pointed out that all oil-exporting countries are facing an economic and financial challenge because of the drop in oil prices. He added Bahrain is studying all decisions in a balanced way with neighbouring countries. He also stressed the government's efforts to strike a balance between an increase in fees and the financial challenges in order to maintain a reasonable economic growth rate. He added increasing fees is not enough to tackle the financial and economic challenges, urging members of the legislative council to consider and pass laws aimed at bolstering the economy and improving the financial situation in Bahrain.
