OVER 180 PASSENGERS MISSING IN BOAT ACCIDENT IN PARE-PARE WATERS
Makassar, S Sulawesi, Jan 12 (ANTARA) - A total of 182 passengers went missing as their motorboat KM Teratai Prima sank in Parepare waters, South Sulawesi, at 4 a.m when sailing from Parepare port to Balikpapan on Sunday.
KM Teratai left Parpare port at 4 p.m on Saturday but it had this accident in Parepare waters due to huge waves, and sank early on Sunday, a rescue coordinator said.
Coordinator of the rescue and search team from the University of Hasanuddin, Salman said here on Sunday that the ill-fated Teratai carried 200 passengers, 18 of whom had been rescued by local fishermen, and 182 still missing.
