SCE organises Mashtan island cleaning

Manama, Mar. 28 (BNA): The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) in collaboration with various entities carried out a cleaning campaign in Mashtan island as part of the Environment Month activities aimed to enlighten the community about the importance of environmental protection. Seventy volunteers participated from Bahrain Clean Up team, Scuba life, Al Malkiya rovers, and members of the civil society in association with the Directorate of Marine Resources, South Tourism, Ocean driving and port marine. The Council's International Relations Director, Amina Al Rumaihi, said 360 kg of old glass, plastic, netting, fishing tools garbage was removed from the surface of the island. She praised the successful campaign and the partnership that helped collect a big quantity of garbage and won remarkable appreciation and praise of the efforts exerted by various entities which suggested the continuation of the campaign in the rest of islands of the Kingdom of Bahrain with support of the largest number of partners.
