Premier receives AFC President

Manama, March 28 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at Gudaibiya Palace today President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Vice President of the International Football Federation (FIFA) on Asia Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa. He lauded his honourable history of achievements and successes in the football field in Bahrain and Asia, stressing his ability to steer the sport movement towards more accomplishments and wishing him further success. HRH the Prime Minister praised Shaikh Salman's participation in FIFA recent elections, describing it as a reflection of Bahrain's advanced status on the world sport map and the Bahrainis' capability to lead the world football to more progress and development. He added Shaikh Salman proved to be a strong candidate to his contenders which was a source of pride for all Bahrainis as he was very close to victory. He lauded Bahrain's local and international achievements in the scientific, cultural and sport fields, stressing the need to exert more efforts to achieve forecast aspirations. The AFC President extended thanks and gratitude to HRH the Premier for supporting Bahraini sport and for supporting him during FIFA presidential elections.
