First office for medical specialties opened in Bahrain

Manama, March 29 (BNA): The public health sector in Bahrain signed an agreement with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to set up a coordination office in Bahrain. The official opening of the regional office in Bahrain was attended by Chairman of the Supreme Health Council Lt. General Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
The opening ceremony of the office, which is considered the first of its kind in the Gulf region, was also attended by Commander of King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH) Shaikh Salman bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa, Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Aisha Mubarak Bu Unq, Assistant Undersecretary for Hospital Affairs Dr. Mohammed Amine Al Awadhi, Health Ministry Training Director Dr. Mohammed Al Suwaidi and KHUH Training Director Dr. Dalal Al Hassan.
Meanwhile, from the Saudi part, the celebration was attended by Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Al Sayagh, Secretary General Dr. Suleiman Al Omran. Deputy Secretary General for Financial Affairs Zaher Al Barghi and President of the Region for Training Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al Sultan.
The opening of the new office is expected to further boost bilateral health cooperation by creating new training opportunities to fill the shortage in many medical disciplines.
