GOSI to honour pensioners

Manama, March 29 (BNA): The General Organisation for Social Insurance (GOSI) is set to hold the first celebration to honour the retirees in coordination with Al Hikma Pensioners Society . GOSI Chief Executive Dr. Zakariya Sultan Al Abbasi said the celebration, which will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Premier, is in line with the leadership's directives to honour Bahrainis for their achievements, including mainly the pensioners. He added that the event is in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to give care for all categories of the Bahraini society, especially the retirees who served in the public and private sectors. A Abbasi also pointed out that in tribute for the pensioners' long service, GOSI is looking forward to the celebration to become an annual national occasion themed "the National Pensioners Day" to pay tribute to the retirees for their long contributions to the nation's development and progress. He noted that in preparation for the function, a high organising committee and many main committees have been formed to ensure success of the celebration.
