Bahrain hosts forum on green policy, technology, finance

Manama, Mar 29 (BNA): Under the patronage of the Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE), the US Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), today organized a forum on "The Keys to Sustainable Communities: Global Partnerships for Green Policy, Technology and Finance."
Leading global experts and businessmen discussed the private sector's capacity to create and lead a strong, clean and flexible economic environment that capable of creating economic opportunities and benefits.
The forum focused on four main areas, including government sector partnerships, best practices in environmental management and development, the role of financial institutions, private sector and policy makers.
The Supreme Council for the Environment, US Chamber of Commerce, UNIDO, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) and Kuwait Finance House participated in a round table debate on environmental affairs in Bahrain.
Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for the Environment, Dr. Mohammed Mubarak bin Daina, in the round table discussion, talked about the priorities of the Kingdom of Bahrain in climate and environment policies, stressing the role of economic diversification in sustainable development, and the role of cooperation in bringing achievements for the benefit of future generations.
