Minister receives Thai FM's envoy

Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met today the Special Envoy of the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Dr Surin Pitsuwan, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The minister praised the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Thailand and the progress of these ties in various fields in view of the continued keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to bolster cooperation with the Kingdom of Thailand and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Dr Surin Pitsuwan expressed the pride of the Kingdom of Thailand in its friendship with the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirming his country’s keenness to further bolster relations for the benefit of the two countries and their people. The meeting also discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, and affirmed the importance of coordination between the two countries at international gathering to achieve joint interests.
