Minister receives AMF chairman

Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA) Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF)'s general director and board chairman, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Hamidi, as part of preparations ahead of the joint annual Arab financial institutions meetings hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain on April 5-6. During the meeting, the two sides explored final preparations for the meetings as well as various essential technical, organizational, procedural aspects to ensure the convening of maximum professional quality meetings. The two sides stressed the importance of upcoming meetings and their vital role as a key instrument for reviewing the steps taken by the pan-Arab development process and aligning the paths and priorities for the upcoming period. The minister affirmed the kingdom's pride in hosting this significant event for the first time and receiving this convergence of high-profile bankers, decision-makers, financiers and investors in the Arab world. For his side, Dr. Al Hamidi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to HM the King, the government and people of Bahrain for hosting the meetings, wishing the Bahrain further advancement and prosperity, and praising the efforts of the Finance Ministry in finalizing the arrangements for the event and provision of all potentials that ensure its success. Also during the meeting, the two sides explored aspects of ongoing positive cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Monetary Fund, and means of boosting this cooperation to maximize the kingdom's benefiting from the expertise and knowledge of this institution which is one of the leading Arab financial funds.
