Labour minister receives German ambassador

Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan today received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Alfred Simms-Protz. The minister commended the two countries' bilateral ties, noting the growth and development of these ties in all fields. The minister briefed the ambassador about latest projects and programmes of the ministry and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) in all aspects of human development and protection of expatriate workers of all nationalities. He also briefed the ambassador about the development of labour market regulations and national legislations in addition to initiatives launched to enhance work environment, productivity, social partnership and the provision of dignified livelihood to citizens. For his part, the ambassador praised the advanced accomplishments of the Kingdom of Bahrain in all walks of life in the light of the comprehensive reforms of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in line with international conventions and laws. He affirmed his country's keenness on maintaining the cooperation and bolstering the existing bilateral ties in all fields, pointing out that Bahrain is qualified to become an example in the Middle East for social openness and the provision of safe environment for expatriate workers.
