HRH Premier hails ties with Thailand

Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the former Secretary-General of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Special Envoy of the Thai Foreign Minister, Dr Surin Pitsuwan. HRH Premier lauded the Bahraini-Thai relations, and the two government's keenness on enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields. HRH the Prime Minister reviewed with the Thai Foreign Minister's Special Envoy areas of joint cooperation, praising the advanced level of cooperation between the two friendly countries on the regional and global developments. The Prime Minister highlighted the kingdom's unwavering keenness on building a strong model of bilateral "constructive and fruitful" cooperation through activating joint agreements in the investment, trade, economic and cultural fields. Former ASEAN Secretary-General the Special Envoy of the Thai Foreign Minister lauded the crucial role played by HRH Premier in developing Bahraini-Thai relations at all levels, and commended his efforts to strengthen GCC-ASEAN cooperation ties. Dr Surin Pitsuwan underlined his country's pride in its relations with Bahrain, noting that it looks forward to opening up new horizons of rapprochement that benefit the two friendly countries. He hailed HRH Premier's initiatives to broaden areas of cooperation between the two countries.
