HRH Premier issues two edicts

Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today issued Edict 16/2016, re-structuring the Executive Committee of the Action Plan to Promote Good Governance in Government Institutions, under the chairmanship of the Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Muatawa. The panel comprises the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) President, Ahmed Zayed Al Zayed, the CEO of the Informatics and e-Government Authority, Mohammed Al-Al-Qaed, Director-General of the Bahrain Institute for Public Administration (BIPA), Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams, the Good Governance Advisor at the Cabinet Affairs Ministry, Nada Ahmed Yassen, and the Director of Informatics at HRH Premier's Court, Ibrahim Ali Al-tamimi, as members for renewable two-year terms. The Cabinet Affairs Minister shall implement the edict which takes effect a day after its publication in the Official Gazette. HRH Premier also issued Edict 17/2016 on establishing the Council for Regulating Engineering Professions Practice. According to the edict, the 'Council' will be chaired by Eng. Abdul Majeed Bashir Al-Qassab, with Eng. Wafa Abdulrahman as Deputy Chairperson. Members include Eng. Effat Ridha Hussain, Eng. Massoud Ibrahim Al-Harmi, Eng. Ghazi Said Al-Saleh, Eng. Ammar Rashid Al-Khashram, Eng. Abdulghani Abdulnabi Khalifa, Eng. Shahraban Ahmed Hussain Sharif and Eng. Mohammed Salahuddin. They will serve for a renewable three-year term. The terms of reference of the council are stipulated in Law 51/2014 with respect to the Regulation of the Practice of Engineering Professions, and its executive bill. Edict 11/2013 on re-structuring the Committee for Organising Engineering Professional Practice will be abrogated. The Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning shall implement the edict which takes immediate effect, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
