Shaikh Nasser congratulates Royal Endurance Team

Manama, Apr. 4 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team congratulated Bahrain Royal Endurance Team members for winning advanced positions in the different championships that are now taking place in Europe. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said the improved performance shown by team members reflects the development of Bahraini equestrian and endurance sports under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The statements of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa followed the latest achievement of Bahrain Royal Endurance Team members in Fontainebleau, France. Bahraini riders secured the first four podium positions in the 160Km race held in the southern parts of the French Capital Paris. HH Shaikh Nasser added that team members gained international experience by participating in championships abroad and competing against skilled riders from different countries. He lauded the riders, trainers and administrational members of the team and directed them to prepare well for the World Endurance Championship 2016 that will be held in Dubai next December. Bahrain Royal Endurance Team members Mohammed Abdulsamad, Jaffaar Mirza, Shaikh Saqr bin Khalid Al Khalifa and Abdulrahman Al Saad won the first four positions at the championship, while fellow team member Abdulrahman Al Zayid came in seventh place. They dominated the race during its five stages despite the roughness of the race course. Riders representing countries such as Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Malaysia, Oman and France also took part in the championship.
