HRH Premier calls for Arab meetings to address economic challenges

Manama, Apr. 6 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has stressed that economy and politics should go hand in hand, explaining that a robust economy creates strong politics that can influence the global decision-making process. HRH Premier pointed out that some parties have focused their attention on the Arab World and are awaiting eagerly for any mishaps that may pose a threat to Arab security, stability and economy. Therefore, Arab decision-makers have to agree on unified stances that fulfill the aspirations of the Arab Nation and impress those awaiting for setbacks by landmark economic and development achievements, he said. HRH the Prime Minister stressed that meetings between Arab senior officials have become a matter of necessity amid the current situation the Arab Nation is going through and the global economic situation caused by the fall in oil prices. Under the current circumstances, there is no room for differences, and joint Arab meetings should be held to formulate unified ideas and visions that pave the way for enhancing joint Arab economic cooperation through which Arab countries can collectively overcome all challenges and push their development and progress marches forward. HRH Premier made the stances as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today Arab finance ministers and governors of Arab central banks, who are participating in the annual joint meeting of the Arab Financial Institutions, currently hosted by the kingdom under his patronage. HRH Premier underscored the importance of the meetings of Arab Financial Institutions in assessing the current situation of the Arab development march and exploring the best ways to confront all challenges facing the Arab progress march through well-thought steps that enhance joint Arab action and cooperation to push the Arab development and progress marches forward. The Prime Minister reiterated Bahrain's support to all efforts aiming to consolidate Arab cooperation in the economic and financial fields and enhance Arab countries' ability to face regional and international developments. He affirmed that the annual meetings of the Arab monetary agencies provide a platform for the financial institutions that are in charge of funding Arab projects to share ideas and visions and agree on initiatives that boost the Arab development march and increase its ability to withstand potential economic developments. HRH Premier voiced full confidence that the annual meetings of the Arab financial institutions will come up with resolutions and recommendations that serve Arab financial, economic and development cooperation, wishing the participants every success in serving Arab interests. The participants in the annual meetings of the Arab monetary agencies expressed utmost thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for patronising the key Arab financial gathering, which, they said, reflects his constant keenness to enhance cooperation and solidarity among Arab states. They lauded the efforts exerted by Bahrain to put in place all success requirements for their annual meetings.
