HM King visits RBAF

Manama, April 6 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa paid a visit today to the Royal Bahrain Air Force (RBAF). He was welcomed on arrival at Isa Air Base by BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Defence Minister, the BDF Chief of Staff and RBAF Commander. HM the King was greeted by senior officers. Then, after the national anthem, HM inspected the parade. After that, RBAF Commander Air Vice-Marshal Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa gave a speech in which he extended, on behalf of RBAF affiliates, thanks and gratitude to HM the King for the visit. He paid tribute to HM King Hamad for his directives to take part in the Saudi-led Decisive Storm and Restoring Hope operations to restore legitimacy in Yemen. He commended the unflinching royal support to RBAF, pointing out cooperation between the GCC and Arab military forces which yielded the Arab and Islamic coalitions. He also thanked His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, and the BDF Commander-in-Chief for their continuous follow-up and support. HM the King presented officers, non-commissioned officers and RBAF members with medals of appreciation in tribute for their dedication in performing their national duties. He lauded participation of RBAF personnel alongside their brethren from BDF units and the Arab Coalition in the Saudi-led Restoring Hope Operation to defend legitimacy and justice in Yemen. He stressed that the noble mission in Yemen is part of continuous contribution of RBAF to promoting regional security and peace under the umbrella of the United Nations. HM the King praised high competence and determination of RBAF affiliates in fulfilling their duties courageously, stressing keenness to continue developing the air force by providing it with the latest weaponries and equipment.
