Shura Council First Deputy Chairman honoured

Manama, April 10 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh has affirmed Bahrain's successful parliamentary experience laid down by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as part of a comprehensive democratic reform project. He said the legislative authority had given the world a bright image of the democratic progress and national competencies in Bahrain. The Shura Council Chairman was speaking on the occasion of granting Shura Council First Deputy Chairman Jamal Fakhro the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award 2014 of the second category. The prize was granted to him by the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) in tribute for his tremendous efforts in serving Bahrain and promoting the parliamentary march. The Shura Council First Deputy Chairman received the award after the APU 23rd conference unanimously approved the award special committee's report which included his nomination for the award. He thanked APU for the kind gesture, describing the honour as a tribute to the legislative authority in Bahrain.
