S. Korean Regime Accused of Suppressing Teachers Union

Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Education and Culture of the DPRK released a statement Friday criticizing the south Korean Park Geun Hye regime's fascist suppression of the Teachers Union. The statement said: Since it took office, The Park group has mercilessly suppressed the union. Not content with it, it let a court deprive the union of its legal status and now has gone so far as to cut off its banking transactions and pressurize it to unconditionally fire its leading officials including the chairman. The statement termed this crackdown an undisguised politically-motivated reprisal and undemocratic repressive act to completely eliminate the educators calling for righteous education for students and justice and truth against the unpopular educational policy of the puppet regime. It would be a shortcut to defending justice and preventing the revival of the "yusin" fascist rule in south Korea to wipe out as soon as possible the Park group suppressing progressive educators by mobilizing fascist repressive bodies, the statement said, and went on: People of various circles in south Korea should turn out in the struggle to oust the fascist Park Geun Hye group of traitors from power as they are keen to trample down inviolable campus and revive the dark era of fascism, and in the drive to defend the union. All teachers in the DPRK will always support the union in its dauntless struggle for genuine education for students, social democracy and national reunification against the unpopular education policy of the Park regime. -0-
