HM King Hamad arrives in Riyadh

Riyadh, Apr. 20 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Riyadh today at an invitation by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, heading Bahrain's delegation to a summit between the GCC leaders and the US President Barack Obama tomorrow Thursday (April 21). HM the King was welcomed on arrival by Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahraini Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Shaikh Humood bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and senior officials. HM King Hamad expressed happiness about meeting anew the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the GCC leaders as well as taking part in the summit which will convene tomorrow with the US President. The summit, he said, clearly reflects outstanding relations between the GCC countries and the USA and underlines success of dialogue as an approach and continuous consultation regarding various issues. He stressed that the prospective summit is part of the unrelenting efforts of the GCC countries to boost regional welfare through coordination with friendly countries and influential powers, including mainly the USA. HM the King emphasized the importance of constructive global cooperation to overcome challenges and achieve permanent security and stability. He noted that the GCC countries have drawn a well-defined framework for cooperation with the rest of the world based on transparency, credibility and decisiveness in working out solutions and tackling threats. HM King Hamad expressed hope the summit would come up with results that would help handle the grave regional and international challenges, boost regional peace and security and achieve aspirations for more welfare by adhering to clear-cut principles, including mainly mutual respect, no interference in countries' internal affairs and respect of international laws.
