SCW receives 1362 requests in 2015

Manama, Apr. 24 (BNA): The Supreme Council of Women (SCW) said the Women Support Centre (WSC) had received 1362 varied requests for services, including 275 requests for legal advice/services, 584 requests to follow up of nationality for children from a Bahraini mother, 271 requests to follow up housing applications, and 188 requests to benefit from familial guidance in 2015.
The Centre considered 71 cases that culminated in reaching amicable reconciliation/settlement as well as successfully dealing with 44 requests for various services and follow up with ministries and executive institutions in the kingdom.
The Centre addresses issues of all Bahraini women through receiving their complaints and issues directly. The Centre also helps women to overcome their problems through a number of available channels and mechanisms according to the Supreme Council for Women (SCW)'S specialisations to provide stability for Bahraini families and reinforce the cohesiveness of Bahrain's social fabric.
The Women Support Centre receives applications directly by the individual's visiting the Centre in the SCW head-office during official working hours, through specialised offices in the four governorates or by calling the toll-free hotline 80008006.
