Crown Prince receives newly appointed SCE Vice President

Manama, Apr. 24 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today received His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa at Riffa Palace, following His Highness’ appointment as Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), During the meeting, His Royal Highness highlighted the significant strides the Kingdom has taken to protect the environment and maintain sustainable development. In this regard, His Royal Highness underscored the importance of further increasing efforts to develop the Kingdom’s environmental sector through the implementation of the SCE National Environmental Strategy. His Royal Highness added that Bahrain’s leading role in environmental protection is a direct result of the directives and support of His Majesty King Hamad, and that Bahrain’s young people, who demonstrate their competence and ability across all sectors, continue to play a particularly vital role in supporting the environmental sector. The Crown Prince went on to congratulate His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid and wished him success in his new role as Vice President of the SCE, under the leadership of the President of the SCE, His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Speaking about Bahrain’s efforts to meet international environmental goals, His Royal Highness highlighted Bahrain’s constructive participation at the COP 21 Climate Change Conference and Bahrain’s recent signing of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change at the United Nations. For his part, the SCE Vice President expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness and expressed his pride in His Majesty’s trust in appointing him to his position.
