Interior shooting range inaugurated

Manama, Apr 29 (BNA): Interior Minister, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, today inaugurated the Interior Ministry shooting range that was designed in accordance to international standards. The Interior Minister expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King Representative for Charitable Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Youth and Sports Council and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee for his ongoing support to sport activities. The minister also attended the final ceremony of the Interior Ministry Shooting Championship, in the presence of Chairman of Bahrain Shooting Association (BSA), Shaikh Salman bin Khalid Al Khalifa, and Southern Governor, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, as well as Inspector General, Interior Undersecretary and Chief of Public Security. Interior Minister and BSA Chairman honoured the winners in the Rifle, pistol, shotgun, bow and arrow competitions. After that the minister toured an exhibition of weapons and supplies and equipment for shooting teams, which was held on the sidelines of the event. He asserted that shooting sports are part of sports that are promoted by the Interior Ministry, highlighting the dedication of the ministry to contribute to various sports. He applauded the high level of the MOI shooting championship that reflected the competency and high skills of Bahraini shooters. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the BSA Chairman for his distinguished role in the success of the championship and ongoing cooperation with the Public Security Sports Association that contributed to the good organising of the event and its success. President of the Public Security Sports Association, Colonel Khalid Al Khayat, said that the event was part of the directives of Interior Minister to promote sports activities, including shooting sports to enable players to participate in regional and international competitions. He said that the inauguration of the shooting range aims to allow the players to benefit from the high-tech equipment that meet the standards of international shooting ranges.
