Thriving intellectual, cultural movement in Bahrain praised

Manama, May 8 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi praised the thriving media, cultural and literary movement in Bahrain. Speaking at a meeting today with a number of writers, researchers, poets and artists, he lauded development of education and scientific research thanks to freedom of expression and intellectual creativity in the prosperous reform era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He praised contribution of creative Bahraini professionals to enriching the Arab library with distinguished publications in various areas.
The Information Minister underlined the government's keenness to pave the way for citizens to hone their skills and click on their educational potentials to boost Bahrain's pioneering standing as a regional and international model in cultural and human development as well as in building a knowledge-based community.
The writers, researchers and intellectuals thanked the Information Minister for his support to Bahraini competencies and motivation to publish more books.
The Information Minister received researcher and employee at Bahrain Radio Sana Yusef Saqr who presented him with a copy of her Master Degree thesis in media and public relations which was obtained from Al Ahlia University. He lauded the importance of the research in spotlighting the role of mass media in disclosing information to the public, shaping awareness, defending the national interest, fostering patriotism and preserving the identity.
The information Minister also received journalist Osama Al Majid who presented him with a copy of his book on His Royal Highness the Prime Minister and his achievements. He commended the content of the book which sheds light on the accomplishments of HRH the Premier in building the nation, fast-tracking development, boosting the kingdom's security and stability and optimising services for citizens.
The Information Minister hailed the scientific and legal contributions of Dr. Ghazi Faisal Hussain Al Sakouti, the Editor-in-Chief of the Constitutional Studies magazine which is issued by the Constitutional Court. Dr. Ghazi presented him with a copy of the last edition of the quarterly magazine and a copy of his book on research methodologies in political sciences.
The minister received writer Hassan Ali Al Binfalah who presented him with a copy of his book on the role of the prophets in promoting humanitarian values and Islamic morals for the welfare of mankind. He also received writer Kamal Mohammed Bukamal who presented him with a copy of his book on the history of Isa Town since its inauguration in 1968 by late Amir of Bahrain Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The Information Minister also received writer Abdullah Houd Al Menai who presented him with a copy of his second novel. He also received copies of four books of poetry at a meeting with poet Mohammed Mesa'ad Al Sayadi.
At a meeting with Bahraini fine artist Mahmoud Gharib, the Information Minister commended his publications and the artistic drawings they contain which relate the history of Bahrain and the kingdom's main civlizational and urban landmarks.
