Premier stresses keenness on boosting cooperation with legislative branch

Manama, May 9 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed today the government's keenness to boost cooperation with the legislative branch and remove obstacles to projects aimed at promoting citizens' welfare. HRH the Premier was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla and Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, MPs and Shura Council members. The meeting was held in the presence of former Representatives Council Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani. HRH the Prime Minister praised the royal directives to cater for citizens' needs, stressing that the next phase would witness more services projects in various fields. He underlined keenness to ensure development projects are carried out nationwide, stressing that meeting citizens' needs is top priority for the government. He also expressed satisfaction at his recent visit to the National Assembly, praising keenness of its members to bolster cooperation between the executive and legislative branches for the best interest of the nation and citizens. HRH the Premier congratulated the Representatives Council Speaker on being chosen as one of the most influential Arab personalities in public and charity work by the Arab Development Achievers foundation in Egypt. He affirmed that the honour is a source of pride for all Bahrainis. "We are partners and we are proud of your role which is a responsibility entrusted to you by the people. Our goal is the interest of our country and we have a lot to do for it and for our people," HRH the Prime Minister said, stressing the need to back the national development march and thwart attempts to sow division and disrupt progress. "We are capable of containing any difference in opinion," he added, urging to take advantage of the social media websites for patriotic goals. He also called for concerted efforts to maintain national security and stability, tackle problems and fast-track sustainable development. HRH the Prime Minister praised the rich heritage of the Bahraini people, urging to boost national unity and preserve the country's traditions. He asserted that the current economic challenges in the region are the outcome of policies targeting regional stability and resources. However, he added, the GCC countries managed to overcome those challenges and need to draw lessons from past experiences. HRH the Premier underlined the efforts exerted to fast-track development despite regional and international economic challenges. He hailed the role of Bahraini women in this respect and their ability to prove their outstanding competence in various areas.
