Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad to patronize WRO 2016

Manama, May 11 (BNA): Under the patronage of the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), President of Bahrain Athletic Association His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the AMA International School in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC) will organize the 6th edition of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) on the 18-19 May 2016 at the BIECC. The patronization reflects Shaikh Khalid's keenness to support scientific events, aiming at developing students’ skills in the scientific and technological fields. It also reflects his interest in supporting the Bahraini youth and to encourage them to be more creative and innovative, in order to honour Bahrain in various scientific international events. More than 30 government and private schools will participate in the event, in addition to universities, clubs and institutions which participate for the first time in the WRO. The winning team will participate in the upcoming WRO set to be held in the Indian Capital New Delhi in November. Director of AMA International School Marietta C Kat expressed her appreciation of Shaikh Khalid's patronization of the event which reflects his constant support to creativity and innovation.
