PRESIDENT RECEIVES CREDENTIALS OF NEW FOREIGN ENVOYS

Jakarta, Jan. 14 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at Merdeka Palace here on Wednesday received the credentials of a number of new foreign ambassadors to Indonesia.

The newly-assigned foreign envoys to Indonesia were Borge Petersen of Denmark, Ahmed Mohamed El Sayed El Kewaisny of Egypt, Shovkat K Djamalov of Uzbekistan, Ahmed Bin Abdullah Ahmed G Al-Mohanadi of Qatar, Dmitri Tsikouris of Greece, and Kan Pharidh of Cambodia.

They came to the palace at 9 am local time, and took turns to present their respective credentials to the president starting with Danish Ambassador Borge Petersen.

President Yudhoyono received each new ambassador for around 30 minutes.

Later in the day, the head of state was scheduled to receive the visiting Dutch foreign minister.
