Bahrain celebrates International Nurses Day

Manama, May 12 (BNA): Chief Executive of the National Authority for the Regulation of Health Professions and Services, Dr. Mariam Al-Jalahma, marking the International Nurses Day, underlined the role of nursing in underpinning healthcare sector. Dr. Al-Jalahma said that this year's celebration themed (Nurses: A force for change, improving health systems' resilience) aims at accentuating the role of nursing in the development of health systems. She noted that 10,222 licensed nurses practicing the profession in Bahrain, among of them 7,589 working in the government sector and 2,633 in the private sector. She took pride in the Bahranization rate in health sector that exceeds 65%.
