Kingdom of Bahrain Trophy winners crowned

Manama, May 16 (BNA): Dr.Khalid Ahmed Hassan, Manager of the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team, and Tawfeeq Salehi, the manager of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s media office and information centre, crowned the grand prize winners of the Grand Prix for the Kingdom of Bahrain at Windsor. Hosted as part of the Royal Windsor Horse Show, the show-jumping competition featured a list composed of international participants, representing countries from across the world, including Bahraini jockey Shaikh Hassan bin Rashid Al Khalifa. American jockey, Kent Farrington finished atop the podium on his steed, Creedance; while Briton John Whitaker took second on Argento and Italian Piergiorgio Bucci bagged third place on Casallo Z. Dr. Hassan extended to the winners the warm greetings and congratulations of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. He pointed out that the festival represented a great opportunity to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain and highlight the modern achievements of the country during the prosperous era under the leadership of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect him, across all fields, especially the equestrian sports. Dr. Hassan also affirmed the Royal Endurance Team's keenness the follow the directions of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to promote the modern development and achievements being witnessed by the Kingdom in global events, especially in the field of sports. For this Bahrain deserved to be considered a pioneer model to be followed in the region, he noted. Salehi, in his comment, pointed out that this grand international festival for equestrian sports contributed to the development of the sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He declared that the event represented a great opportunity in promoting Bahrain across different fields. "Participation in this prestigious championship, which is being held for the fourth year, comes in the context of the historical links between Britain and the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is at its peak under the prosperous era of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who has shown his keenness to attend the event and support the participating jockeys.
