Information Minister receives Japanese ambassador

Manama, May 22 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi received today Japanese Ambassador to Bahrain Kiyoshi Asako and discussed with him ways of boosting bilateral relations mainly in the information field by exchanging technical experiences in developing audio-visual and electronic broadcasting. He lauded historic ties binding the two friendly countries on the basis of mutual respect, keenness on common interests, promoting regional and international peace and security and fostering inter-cultural dialogue. The minister lauded the historic visit of His Majesty the King to Tokyo in April 2012, stressing its importance in bolstering cooperation in various fields and hailing Japan's contribution to setting up many development, environmental and educational projects. Ambassador Asako thanked the minister for his keenness to consolidate relations of friendship and cooperation between both countries mainly in the information and technical field.
