Second Gulf Strategic Conference kicks off

Manama, May 22 (BNA): On behalf of Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa opened today the 2nd Gulf Strategic Conference which is organised by the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT) on global geopolitical changes. The Foreign Minister praised interaction of DERASAT with regional and international issues and its keenness to provide comprehensive visions to deal with challenges and serve regional security and stability. DERASAT Board of Trustees Chairman Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Fadhala gave a welcoming speech. Then, former Romanian Prime Minister and member of the New strategies Center Ambassador Sergiu Celac, member of the French Senate and Deputy Head of the Foreign and Defence Affairs Committee Senator Nathalie Goulet and Professor Cliff Jones from Britain's Durham University gave speeches on regional and international developments and challenges. The 2nd Gulf Strategic Conference, which concludes tomorrow (May 23), is hosting an elite of prominent figures, analysts, researchers and specialists in international and Middle Eastern studies, along with renowned think tanks from all over the world to discuss global geopolitical changes.
