FUEL OIL PRICES CUT WILL HARDLY MOVE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR: OBSERVER

Jakarta, Jan 13 (ANTARA) - Energy affairs observer Pri Agung Rakhmanto said the fuel price cuts would hardly move the industrial sector promptly.

"We are expecting too much, assuming the fuel price cuts will move the industrial sector so soon," he said here Wednesday.

The government will officially lower prices of subsidized premium gasoline from Rp 5,000 to Rp 4,500 per litre and diesel price from Rp 4,800 to Rp 4,500 on Thursday, Jan 15.

According to Rakhmanto who is Executive Director of Energy and Mining Reforms Study Center, based on the law of the economy, a price decline would eventually lead to lower prices in other sectors, such as transportation fares.
