POSCO CEO offers to resign
SEOUL, Jan. 15 (Yonhap) -- The top executive of POSCO, the world's fourth-largest
steel maker, expressed his intention to step down from his post Thursday.
Lee Ku-taek, 65, said at a company board meeting Thursday morning that he wants
to resign as chairman of POSCO. His three-year term is set to expire in February
2010.
Top executives at POSCO have typically been replaced whenever a new
administration takes office. Lee was named to head POSCO in 2003, when then
President Roh Moo-hyun was inaugurated.
