Chinese remain number one tourist arrivals to Thailand
BANGKOK, June 4 (TNA) -- President of the Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA) said Chinese visitors continue to be the number one tourist arrivals in Thailand, noting that the number of Chinese to arrive in Thailand has increased by 40 per cent in the past five months when compared with last year's figure.
ATTA President Charoen Wangananont said the number of Chinese tourists continue to be highest in the country, increasing by 40 per cent when compared with the first fice months of last year.
He added that the overall tourist market is also higher than than the predicted expansion of 10 per cent by 5-6 per cent, landing at 15-16 per cent hike presently.
Mr Charoen also mentioned that the news circling on the social media about Chinese tourists crowding to purchase every available pack of Chitralada milk tablet is true, noting that just like any other tourists, the Chinese would usually shop for items, especially food, which they have told are tasty and not be missed while in any particular country.
