Interior minister chairs security meeting

Manama, June 4 (BNA): Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa chaired today a security meeting to review the circumstances of the escape of 17 detainees from the Dry Dock Detention Center. He was presented with a report by Undersecretary detailing the escape that took place at 8:45 am on Friday June 3. The report also highlighted security efforts to arrest the fugitives. Thus far, eleven of the detainees have been caught along with five others who assisted in the planning and execution of the escape. The search continues for the remaining six escapees: 1- Mohammed Abdulamir Jabar Jafar Mushaima, 20 2- Yousif Ahmed Abdullah Al Aradi, 21 3- Sayed Alawi Talib Mohammed Hassan, 21 4- Hassan Musa Jaffar Mohammed, 20 5- Mohamood Sayed Adel Kadhem, 21 6- Abdullah Hussain Ali Al Ajooz, 21 The minister commended the cooperation from citizens and residents and said their help contributed to the quick arrests of several of the fugitives. He also warned against aiding and abetting the remaining fugitives, saying Article 255 of the Penal code Law states: "Any person who either personally or through another provides shelter for a defendant accused in a serious crime or a felony that is punishable by imprisonment or against whom an arrest warrant has been issued, or a death sentence or a penalty involving deprivation of liberty has been passed, and being aware thereof, shall he liable for the punishments of jail term or fine." The Minister called upon anyone with any information regarding the escapees or those who assisted them to contact any security directorate or police station or to call the police hotline at 80008008. All calls are treated as anonymous.
