Ramadan on Monday in Bahrain

Manama, June 5 (BNA): Bahrain has announced that tomorrow –Monday – will be the first day of Ramadan. The moonsighting committee convened at the Supreme Islamic Affairs Council (SIAC) headquarters and confirmed the advent of Ramadan. It based its announcement on the Saudi statement which confirmed the advent of Ramadan, as no testimonies were reported in Bahrain. The panel includes Shaikh Ibrahim bin Abdullatif Al-Saad, Shaikh Adnan bin Abdulla Al-Qattan, Dr. Shaikh Ibrahim bin Rashid Al-Merrikhi and Shaikh Rashid bin Hassan Al-Bouainain. The Supreme Islamic Affairs Council (SIAC) extended greetings to his Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. It also congratulated the Royal Family, the people of Bahrain and the Arab and Islamic nations, wishing all Muslims many happy returns.
